Keep the steamer closed at all times during cooking to prevent steam from escaping and condensing on the lid. This keeps the food moist and tender, and prevents energy loss.
To protect yourself from hot steam when opening the lid, always use potholders. The enamel base of the steamer is heat-resistant up to 450°C.
